For The Golden Roast, I designed a high-end digital experience for an exclusive coffee boutique, translating the brand’s atmosphere into an engaging online journey.

The concept balances inspiration and functionality through two distinct modes. “The Morning Brew” is a light and inviting landing page that tells the story of the origins of the blends, beans, and roasts, designed to spark the senses and make your mouth water. “The Personal Barista” is a dark, refined dashboard tailored to personalized taste profiles and loyalty features.

The goal was to create an experience so rich and sensory, you can almost smell the coffee through the screen.

Keeping The Balance

The design follows the 60-30-10 color rule, using a balanced palette of neutral and accent colors. Accessibility is key, with a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 to meet WCAG standards and ensure readability in both light and mode.

The Look

For this project, I aimed to create a young, ambitious start-up feel within a high-end, coffee-driven aesthetic. The design language is built on warm tones, editorial-style close-ups, and a focus on natural textures, giving the experience a modern quality.

Sharp edges and clean, sans-serif typography reinforce a contemporary, magazine-inspired look, while maintaining a strong sense of structure and clarity.

Defining What Doesn’t Fit

Equally important was defining what the brand is not. I intentionally avoided the visual language of traditional family cafés. No nostalgic or cozy brown café atmospheres, no script or hand-lettered typography, no rounded shapes, and no gold or classical luxury elements. Instead, the result is a sleek, modern, and high-end identity that aligns with the overall concept

The design focuses on creating a luxurious user experience tailored to customers with established routines. Key functionality highlights the most important information at a glance: users can instantly view their loyalty status, track how many points are needed for their next exclusive blend, and quickly reorder their favorite coffee with a single click. In addition, the dashboard presents a personal taste profile, which is used to generate tailored recommendations.

Personalized and Tailor-fit

This translates into a clear and structured dashboard with a strong focus on recognition and speed. The composition is intentionally minimal and balanced, creating a sense of calm while guiding users directly toward their primary actions.

Visually, the design emphasizes authenticity and warmth through the use of earthy tones, reinforcing a refined and inviting high-end experience.
